Wrap Up

They keep adding chapters to the “Book of Golf”, the historical account of the adventures of the intrepid Fearless Foursome. The latest edit talks about the week of golf at Gulf Shores, AL (across the bay from Mobile). Unfortunately, the English language can’t do justice to their exploits, particularly when running out of new superlatives.

Due to a scheduling constraint of the one referred to as the Gosling, the January golf week planted itself right before the weather turned brutal for the return journey. What a planner!

Emergency situations popped up, such as:

  • TV not working, requiring a call to the service provider
  • master bedroom fan remote not working, requiring new battery and reprogramming
  • secondary bedroom fan remote was missing (found upon checkout in plain view)
  • plumbing leak under kitchen sink, requiring mechanical adjustment
  • The aforementioned Gosling, had to fly down two days late
  • Randy’s hound had to be put down during the week, but bride held the news back

It was determined by the Riddler once again that there indeed is a running conspiracy to ensure that he continues to lose money in the Prox game. The other three players couldn’t follow his reasoning, so the matter was tabled. He untabled it and ran with something about handicapping it properly. Randy pointed out that there is a worldwide handicapping system called GHIN that already exists. The perceived problem got tabled once more.

It was anybody’s week to win low average score until the end of the first day. Then it was a horse race for second place.

The Colt improved his Alabama goal by THREE and took home the bacon in winnings.

Marvelous breakfasts and evening meals, ensured by Randy staying well away from any preparation. A secret vote on the most popular dish was held but due to the high probability of hard feelings, the results remain secret.
