This was our sixth installment on the Robert Trent Jones Trail. The first and fourth were on the Northern courses. The second was on the North Central courses. The third was on the South-Central courses. The fifth was on the Southern courses. This year we returned to the Montgomery and Greenville courses of our third year. We ignored the Auburn area due to lengthy drive. Of the over thirty years at SCAGI and five years in Alabama, the weather was by far the best we had seen. 10 minutes of light rain one day, otherwise mid-60’s to low 70’s high temps with light breezes and mostly sunny. Curt was saddled with a few stiches in his thumb and he claimed it impacted his game. It certainly didn’t impact the delicious meals he catered for the evening meals. The Stevenator continued to wonder why his game didn’t resemble the championship form he always shows in Babbitt and Sioux City where he takes down all foes. Patty was his solid Patty, only varying from his even demeanor when tutoring us on the “playing through” rules.
